Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a public message.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
