Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the team access areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them few options but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.

Fans can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
